i run my own photography business and have 2 separate freecom external usb drives that i keep my pictures on. i plugged them in 2 days ago to find the laptop (even though windows xp gives out the connection sound) does not display then in my computer so i cant access them. no amount of restarts, change of ports helps.. i have tried on another laptop with the same result. Any help or advise would be appreciated.
In device manager it is showing as usb mass storage but is not showing up as a drive letter... This is happening for both of them. I do not have a power unit for the drives, but have been running the off usb power for a 2 months now without a problem. Its funny, how on 3 different PC's, 2 seperate usb devices are not even beginning recognised.. even though on the usb hub that i use, the light comes on to show that a device has been connected to it!Issue with 2 external USB hard drives?
Uh oh sounds like you have corrupted drives, I have thew same problem, external USB hard drive been working for the last year and now it wont show up on any computerIssue with 2 external USB hard drives?
Have you tried connecting the drives directly to your PC, cutting out the Hub? Does this give the same results?
