you can buy a usb card and install it in your computer. I had the same problem with the computer not reconizing the usb port. all I can tell you is go to install/uninstall and try to reinstall the port. good luck. How do I get my printer to change from parallel port to USB?
Turn off computer

Change your printer cable to a USB cable

Plug it into the computer %26amp; printer, USB ports

Turn on your computer

The rest is magic.

This only works if your computer %26amp; printer have USB ports.
