Basically i've loaded Tisacali dial up software for them %26amp; when we go to dial the modem says that the port is already in use (error 663) I've looked in the device manager %26amp; cant find anything out of place. There are no fax machines or any other telecomms equipment attached to the machine %26amp; they're running xp home edition. I don't think you need to change ports. Try re-booting the machine (although you might have tried that already). If still no joy then you will have to go through task manager and stop each process until you find the one using that port.What other device? %26quot;Another device is already using the port???%26quot;?
You may have to change which port the modem is using ie from comm1 to comm 4.
