How do i change the port in my, or the other computers firewall to get Home Sharing for iTunes to work?

This is the message i keep getting...



The shared library %26quot;Lynn's Library%26quot; is not responding. (-3259)

Check that any firewall software running on either the shared computer or this computerhas been set to allow communication on port 3689





Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.How do i change the port in my, or the other computers firewall to get Home Sharing for iTunes to work?
If you have not done so already, go to start/ my network places/ then under network tasks you need to setup a network or a wireless network for home or office whichever is right for you. I think you need to do that on all computers involved. Just follow the instructions. Set up whatever you want to share in a sharing folder.How do i change the port in my, or the other computers firewall to get Home Sharing for iTunes to work?

This is where you need to be careful. Opening a port in the FireWall is like asking for trouble and intrusion will be open.



OK..Safest way is to it the old fashion way. Download to another drive weather it be an External Hard Drive of a usb thumb drive and then run your Anti Virus software through the files first.



These steps are a little awkward but they are SAFE..So many are picking up Virus's by opening the Firewall port. The headache's are not worth it.
