Can I change USB port power?

I tried to connect my Nintendo DS Wi-Fi USB connector to one of the USB ports on my Logitech G11 keyboard but my computer says the port does not supply enough power to support it. I want to connect it to my keyboard because it is very convenient to plug and unplug it there.

I don't want to connect it to the front USB ports on my computer case because I am afraid I may hit it and break it. (It sticks out pretty far.)

Also I do not want to plug it into the back of the case because it is hard to get down there to plug/unplug it and I do not like the process running all the time.

So is it possible to change the power distribution to one of the USB ports on my keyboard? How? Alternate solutions are welcome. Can I change USB port power?
For about $2 you can get a usb extension, about a foot long. Then just plug extension into cpu and then place anywhere out of the way. Works as well as a hub but way less expensive and user-friendly.Can I change USB port power?
Get yourself a USB docking station. It plugs into any USB port on your PC and will allow you to plug in 4 USB devices. It does require that you plug it into an AC outlet also, but it's a very good option in your case. They're only about $20.

Hope this helps. Can I change USB port power?
First answer is correct. Just want to remind you to get a %26quot;powered hub%26quot; some are not powered. Can I change USB port power?
Have you plugged it into your pc to see if it works? If so, you can purchase a self-powered hub to plug in to the pc, and use that for the connector. If it doesn't work plugged into the pc, what you may need is a powered usb hub. It would plug into the keyboard port, and an ac adaptor would plug into regular power. There is no way to make a keyboard usb port into a powered one. You can install powered usb port into your computer http://www.cyberdata.net/products/pdf/us

but you have rejected that option in advance, anyway.
