How to find out or change the port number of the server??????

i am a student and in my coll the access to many websites are blocked and also downloads........ we have been using proxy software 'your freedom'..... eventhough it provides access to all sites it is damn slow..... i know the ip address of our network server but they keep changing the port number.... once i find the port number of the server i can download with high speed... so how to find and change the port number of the server..... or is there any way to download at a faster speed by bypassing the firewall of the server?????? i am really in need of this answer...... someone plz help.............How to find out or change the port number of the server??????
