i have a linksys wireless router

ID number: WRK54G

thanksHow to i change the port settings on my linksys router?
Well, since you have a Linksys router, then its IP address is 192.168.1.1, unless you've changed it. Type that in the URL bar and, if you have a password, type it in. Most routers come with the Username being nothing and password being %26quot;admin%26quot; as default. Once you're in, just find the settings for the ports and change those. In my case, they're located under %26quot;Applications and Gaming%26quot;, but I have a WRT54GS.How to i change the port settings on my linksys router?
None of these answers have helped me. I put in the address for the linksys in the URL and it asked for a username and password. I tried %26quot;admin%26quot; on both, and it's not accepting it. I've tried %26quot;admin%26quot; with no password also, and that doesn't work either.

Your lucky im here. Ive had the same problem, except with counter-strike. Go to portforward.com, look for your port, then look for the game in the gamelist.

say you need to open up port 3942(example)

when typing in ports, it should say to and from, put them the same port. hope this works :SHow to i change the port settings on my linksys router?

Do not change the firewall settings to low. That is not the issue. You need to use advanced options of the FW. Ports are like access points, not like secutrity levels.Internet explorer wont work, says http https and ftp ports are blocked from fire wall?
You can find sites on line that will check ports are open.

Click on %26quot;Start%26quot; in the bottom left hand corner of screen

Click on %26quot;Run%26quot;.

Type in %26quot;command%26quot; and hit ok.

You should now be at an MSDOS prompt screen.

Type %26quot;ipconfig /release%26quot; just like that, and hit %26quot;enter%26quot;

Type %26quot;exit%26quot; and leave the prompt

Right-click on %26quot;Network Places%26quot; or %26quot;My Network Places%26quot; on your desktop.

Click on %26quot;properties%26quot;

You should now be on a screen with something titled %26quot;Local Area Connection%26quot;, or something close to that, and, if you have a network hooked up, all of your other networks.

Right-click on %26quot;Local Area Connection%26quot; and click %26quot;properties%26quot;

Double-click on the %26quot;Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)%26quot; from the list under the %26quot;General%26quot; tab

Click on %26quot;Use the following IP address%26quot; under the %26quot;General%26quot; tab

Create an IP address (It doesn't matter what it is. I just type 1 and 2 until i fill the area up).

Press %26quot;Tab%26quot; and it should automatically fill in the %26quot;Subnet Mask%26quot; section with default numbers.

Hit the %26quot;Ok%26quot; button here

Hit the %26quot;Ok%26quot; button again

You should now be back to the %26quot;Local Area Connection%26quot; screen.

Right-click back on %26quot;Local Area Connection%26quot; and go to properties again.

Go back to the %26quot;TCP/IP%26quot; settings

This time, select %26quot;Obtain an IP address automatically%26quot;

Hit %26quot;Ok%26quot;

Hit %26quot;Ok%26quot; again

You now have a new IP address

With a little practice, you can easily get this process down to 15 seconds. (in windows vista the %26quot;My network places%26quot; has been renamed to %26quot;Network and sharing center%26quot; which can be accessed in the Control panel)How can I find my IP address?

Hi AT

There are two ways of finding the IP address of your computer.

The first uses the ipconfig command and the second requires that you

looks at the TPC/IP settings.

To find the IP address on a windows computer using ipconfig, open a

command line (dos prompt) and type the command ipconfig at the prompt.

Abox will appear showing the IP address, subnet mask , and default

gateway

To examine the TCP/IP settings

On windows 2000- Go to start menu%26gt;settings%26gt;network and dial up

connections and right click your connection and select properties.

Select TCP/IP in the window and select properties and you see a box

giving you the ip address and subnet mask

    alright... you're trying to program a machine with your computer. Are you saying that you have 7 USB ports on your computer?

    i dont understand, cant you just plug the machine into the 1st and 2nd port on your computer?

    other than that i think the motherboard has assigned port numbers and i dont think you can mess with them.

    'Web Server (HTTP)' How to change it or get rid of it.?

    In my Windows XP Firewall advanced exceptions I have something called' Web Server (HTTP)' that uses both internal and external port 80. As long as it's using those ports my firewall won't let me make any other exceptions using port 80 which is the port that several of my online games need in order to run. 'Web Server (HTTP)' cannot be deleted or changed inside the firewall and I've used the search program to try and find it to see if anything could be done but evidently it doesn't exist.

    In short I'm need help figuring out a way to bypass the problem, or change the ports it uses. If an alternative can be found that's great but I'd really appreciate it if something could be done soon.%26039;Web Server (HTTP)%26039; How to change it or get rid of it.?

    How do I setup ports for Mocha VNC [iPhone] when I have two Macs on the router I want to connect to?

    So my roommate and I are on the same router. We each have one iMac and one iPhone. We are trying to use Mocha VNC on our iPhones to connect to our Macs. We've gotten each connection to work, but they only work on port 5900 (i.e., I can have his Mac on 5900 and mine on 5901 and his works and mine won't, or I can flip it so I'm on 5900 and he's on 5901 and then mine works and his won't). Obviously, port 5900 can only forward traffic to one IP address (unless I'm ignorant there!)

    I'm assuming this is because the Mac itself only has that port available for VNC. How do I either change the port VNC works on for my Mac or open up two ports simultaneously where one forwards VNC traffic to my roommate's iMac and one forwards VNC traffic to my iMac?How do I setup ports for Mocha VNC [iPhone] when I have two Macs on the router I want to connect to?
    open your firewall in your router to route TCP port 5901 to 5901 to 192.168.x.x. then do the same for TCP port 5900 if this isn't already configured. Note this does not run on UDP!
